Gardner Village

Clint went Deer Hunting this year, and had a lot of fun but did not get a deer. He was gone from home for a week and a half. While he was gone I took the kids to Gardner Village to see the witches. It was a blast but super busy. We went over UEA weekend and I think every mom in the valley had the same idea. We had a picnic and walked around for a while and had lots of fun.

The next weekend we were missing Clint and so we went down to Mayfield for the weekend to get away and hang out with Dad. :) We mostly hung out around the house but we did go to the park and the kids had lots of fun. These pictures are at the park where they were playing with some cousins.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween this year was different. We only went to one Halloween party in the month of October instead of the usual 4, and then celebrated Halloween at home with a pumpkin shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's and went trick or treating. The kids had a blast. We actually went out for about double the time this year and wore them out. They slept so great that night :)

This was at my parents Halloween party early in the month. Micah refused to wear his costume so he is wearing a pirate shirt. He has been obsessed with pumpkins ever since they started showing up this fall. We have left the store with him in tears because I didn't buy one for him. So when they got to pick a pumpkin to take home I thought he would be super excited. He was, until he saw the tomato plants. He picked a couple tomatoes and that was all she wrote. He was more excited over the tomato than his pumpkin and he shows them off proudly in every picture we took of him :)
Taking pictures of two kids is a challenge! Especially when Micah is a wiggle worm and rarely holds still. This was the only shot where they were looking in the same direction and Micah has his tomato in front of his face. Oh well ...

Makayla chose to be Rapunzel this year. I sewed her costume this year. However, I did not finish it in time for my parents party but luckily it was done for Halloween. She was so cute about it. She watched me sew and kept saying "its perfect Mom". Made all the work well worth it.

This was on Halloween before school. She loved her hair and had me take a picture of it.

They had a school costume parade. Clint had the day off and we surprised her and went to watch her in the parade. The little stinker waved a little but did not even crack a smile. After school when she talked about it she was excited that we were there but it sure did not look like it when we were there.

About 2 weeks before Halloween we forced Micah in his costume. It was not pleasant for any of us. It took both Clint and I to hold him in it until we could get it zipped up. We knew once he got it on he would like it but it was a fight. There were many tears and he actually almost threw up he was so upset. But that only lasted until he saw himself in the mirror. Then he said oh cute! Then we showed him that the costume talks and the fit was over. He actually didn't want to take it off. I thought he was going to sleep in it but right before bed he decided he wanted it off. He calls it "my Tigger" and if he saw another tiger or Tigger he said "HEY! that's my Tigger".

Micah and I had the worlds hottest costumes on the Halloween that had the best Trick or Treating weather we have had in a long time. I was sweating buckets when we got home, it didn't help that I walked about a mile uphill with a very tired Tigger on my shoulders.

We had a great Halloween and hope that you did too.
