We Survived Montana!

We went on a trip to Laurel, Montana for a family reunion June 12 - 15th. Clint's mom Ida rode with us on the trip and it was fun to have someone to play with Makayla and to talk to! We had lots of fun in Montana - it was my first time there - and Makayla had lots of fun with cousins that she just met this weekend. She was running basically all day the entire time we were there.

On Friday we helped to clean out Clint's Great Grandparents house to get it ready to sell and even the kids were great helpers.
It was fun to get to know some of Clint's family that lives out of the state. Saturday we went to a small town called Red Lodge. It has some cute little shops on Main Street and we spent a few hours there.

We also spent some time in the hotel pool which was very relaxing and fun and Makayla had lots of fun - although it was kinda hard to know if she had more fun or if Clint did!!

Makayla was such a trooper in the car - and since we drove up there we were so grateful. It was a nice break but as all vacations go we were ready to be home and not drive anywhere for a while!

Sebastian the Hermit Crab

Our family got a Hermit Crab at the beginning of this year and Makayla has loved watching him move and climb inside of his tank. We named him Sebastian and he has already changed shells twice! Every once in a while Clint will get him out of the tank and let the crab crawl on his hands or his arms and Makayla has wanted a turn every time. We have tried every time but his little legs just tickle her hands too bad so she giggles and moves! Last night I decided that I would help her hold her hands still so she could have her turn, and it was hilarious!! She laughed the entire time he was touching her and she always wanted him back! It was so cute and by the end she was able to hold him without us helping her. She is adorable!!

Fun Times Outside!!

This past winter seemed to drag on forever - it is lovely having snow in May!! It has been so great to have great weather to be able to play outside. We got our garden planted, (wish us luck!) and flower beds planted - finally some color outside!!

Last Saturday Clint was checking our sprinklers to make sure they were all spraying where they were supposed to go and Makayla and I were out helping. We played in the water on the sidewalks and made feet and hand prints on the dry side of the driveway. Makayla thought that was just awesome. We splashed in puddles and ran through the cold wet grass - we couldn't get her to run through the sprinklers just yet - but considering that this time last year she could barely touch dry grass with her bare feet I think we are doing just fine!

It was so much fun and I hope that the good weather keeps coming so we can do it some more!!

Wahoo for Springtime
